Salty Sea Dog Triathlon Series: Race 4 The Salty Sea Dog Triathlon Series Race on 6 September 2025 is the final event in a summer series on the beautiful beach just to the East of Southbourne. The event includes Sprint and Super Sprint Triathlon or Duathlon, plus a fast and flat 5km or 10km beach run along the promenade, with stunning views of the coastline. The swim leg is a 375m swim lap that is done once for the Super Sprint and twice for the Sprint. The cycle leg runs along the Overcliff drive to Boscombe and return to Hengistbury Head, 1 lap for the Super Sprint and 2 for the Sprint. The run is a flat out and back along the seafront promenade, 2.5km for the Super Sprint and 5km for the Sprint. The Duathlon includes a fast and flat beach run along the promenade, a cycle route along the cliff top, all enjoying the stunning coastline scenery and a fun beach start and finish to enjoy. Run/Walk These events are perfect for novices looking for their first event and great for athletes wanting to keep sharp mid-season.
